Or was the message that because they left the herd and took responsibility for saving their own lives, they were allowed to reproduce successfully? This is another "QUARANTINE AND KILL" plot. However the government is responsible for both the quarantine AND the kill at the same time. This "new\' type of approach simply says : we put something out there to kill you - it kinda, sorta needs to be done, for \'natural\' reasons... have a good day. This, incidentally was also the plot of the film "Andromeda Strain"....
